Whoa! ...

...What happened to November?

Am I the only one who has fallen into a time accelerating black hole? Of course, several weeks were spent dealing with The-Cough-That-Would-NOT-Go-Away, but even so, how can it be almost the end of November?

So, how about a little jolt of color to bring us back to speed?

The yarn: Noro Silk Garden The pattern: the rage of blogland and Ravelry, Noro Striped Scarf from Brooklyn Tweed. It's absolutely amazing how 39 stitches in K1P1 rib can be so entertaining.

Hi! I know! I don't know where November went! I love your scarf! I'm not much of a knitter. Would it be a good pattern for a beginner?

Mary Sarah -- I would say it's fairly easy. It's a simple, knit 1/purl 1 rib done in two colors, with the yarn not in use being carried up the side (loosely!) so there are no complicated manuevers -- just cast on and go. What makes it interesting for me is the way the colors change -- the Silk Garden yarn is a bit pricey, but there are lots of yarns out in the market place now that have similar long runs of color. If you're on Ravelry, take a look at the many variations.
